2018 marks the 39th year of a volunteer bush regeneration project in the iconic coastal National Park of Crowdy Bay, on the NSW Mid North Coast, north of Taree. A camp will be held from the 3rd– 8th April (directly after Easter) based at gorgeous Kylies Beach, so why not tack it on to the Easter break and join us? Volunteers are welcome to come for just a day or for however long they can make it.
In 2013 a severe bush fire ripped through part of the park resulting in mass germination of woody weed seedlings from the seed store in the soil and undoing years of achievement. Thankfully the NSW Environmental Trust came to the rescue with a three-year grant that enabled a contractor to be employed and achieved fantastic success. So most of the hard work is already done; our main role now is the vitally important follow up.
Volunteers work completely at their own pace and ability attacking a variety of weeds. There is time to swim, drop a fishing line and explore the gorgeous surrounds. The use of a trailer fully equipped with cooking, eating and washing up gear plus an urn and tables set up under a tarpaulin makes camping easy.
